MAKELIS, GREECE AND SG CONSULTING, ICELAND JOIN FORCES

Makelis, Greece and SG Consulting, Iceland have made an agreement of cooperation in marketing and enhancing the product line of Makelis equipment and services.

SVERRIR TO JOIN BAADER POULTRY

Sverrir Gudmundsson has accepted an offer to join the global sales team at BAADER Poultry, as Area Sales Manager Scandinavia and International Sales Manager for Skaginn3X Product Portfolio as of beginning of June 2022. 

Sverrir has already been supporting BAADER Poultry in his previous role at Skaginn3X, which recently resulted in the very first sale of a Skaginn freezer via the poultry organization to a customer in Colombia. 

Sverrir will be taking over the challenging Scandinavian markets and supporting BAADER Poultry with the Skaginn3X portfolio and building up the next generation of sales in his markets.

CERMAQ CHILE SELECTS SG CONSULTING TO SUPPORT IN THEIR SCHEDULED IMPROVEMENT PLAN FOR THEIR OPERATIONS IN CHILE

Cermaq Chile selects SG Consulting to support in their scheduled improvement plan for their operations in Chile.

The primary objective in the project is to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity in the Cermaq Chile plants in Chinquihue, Puerto Montt and Quemchi, Chiloé.

As a second phase, to prepare a master plan step-by-step to reach a state-of-the-art processing facilities by 2025.

MAR ADVISORS SELECTS SG CONSULTING TO SUPPORT IN THEIR DUE DILIGENCE (DD) STUDY

MAR Advisors is an independent, specialized, corporate finance boutique, based in Iceland, that offers tailor-made advisory services to corporate clients globally, with special attention to the seafood, energy, and infrastructure sectors.

SG Consulting was selected by MAR Advisors to participate in a comprehensive Due diligence (DD) study on a large international seafood company. The main objective of the study was to evaluate the company’s efficiency of operations and quality of assets.

SALMONES AUSTRAL SELECTS SG CONSULTING TO SUPPORT IN THEIR SCHEDULED IPO

Gudmundsson’s main objective in the project is to improve efficiency, quality and productivity in Salmones Austral current two plants, in Quellón, Chiloé and in Puerto Montt to support their scheduled IPO.

DENHOLM COMMITS TO PRODUCT QUALITY WITH SKAGINN 3X VALUEPUMP

Sverrir Gudmundsson has been chosen as the Project Manager for the implementation of the Skaginn 3X Value Pump System at Denholm Seafoods.

The new pump design can handle 60 metric tons of pelagic fish per hour. What is truly innovative about this project is the sheer scale of the equipment and the distance that the product is conveyed for further processing. The pump will move the product 200 meters from the docks to Denholm’s facility in Peterhead through a pipe with a 16-inch diameter.

Gudmundsson is excited about heading this project which maintains and secures constant quality of the raw material throughout the production.

ALMARAI COMPANY, SAUDI ARABIA SELECTS SG CONSULTING

SG Consulting is proud to have been selected as a consultant by the Almarai Company, Saudi Arabia. Almarai is looking into opportunities to enter aquaculture in line with Almarai other business activities in which the company is not involved in today.

Consultancy Services required:

Scope of work

The scope of work is divided into the following main categories:

1. Evaluate and make necessary on-site tests to decide on the following key criteria:
   a. Slaughtering of Tilapia, timing and location.
   b. Filleting process to achieve highest possible yield.
   c. Descaling for sea bass and sea bream.

2. Working closely with Almarai project team to support preparation of the process RFP’s including defined scope definition including key performance requirements for issuing to Processing vendor(s) to ensure selection of the best available fish processing technologies not exceeding excessive cost which are aligned with Almarai quality standards & specifications.

3. Evaluate and recommend technical solution(s) from potential vendors.

4. Consult on final technical design(s) of the fish processing facilities.

5. Support detail design of production facilities to apply best practices and/or fit for purpose in general design for processing hall, staff facilities, hygienic and HSS.

6. Advice and recommend training requirements and performance for staff for filleting and trimming process.

7. Define KPIs for yield and for product quality.

8. Evaluate feasibility of applying trimming robot for Tilapia fillets.

9. Provide oversight and insight into best practice continuous improvement methodologies for team staffing, training and competency enhancement(s) including cross functional collaboration.

ICEWATER SEAFOODS SELECTS SG CONSULTING FOR FACTORY UPDATE

Icewater Seafoods, Arnold’s Cove, Newfoundland, Canada, the largest producer of once-frozen Atlantic cod in North America has completed their first phase of expected three in updating their 39-year-old factory. This is including the latest state-of-the-art heading, filleting and skinning equipment from BAADER Germany as well as its receiving area and distribution of fillets to their existing Marel Flowline System.

SG Consulting is proud to have been selected by Icewater Seafoods to participate in the project as a consultant for the concept layout design, participating in the equipment selection, handling the project management for the implementation and the start-up of the equipment.
